It started with a simple belief: Southern Oregon deserves more places where people can gather, share a meal, and leave feeling better than when they arrived. That belief grew into hundreds of conversations, local partnerships, and a community of supporters who decided to help build something from the ground up.
Today, The Meltdown is a community-funded gourmet grilled cheese food truck serving Southern Oregon. But what we’re building has always been bigger than food.

Meet the Founders
Nik and Rich Martin (No Relation)
The Meltdown was created through the partnership of Nik Martin and Rich Martin, two Southern Oregon entrepreneurs who share a passion for community, small business, and building systems that strengthen the region. Both born right here in Southern Oregon.
Nik has spent years connecting people through food, events, and local relationships. His vision for The Meltdown centered on creating a welcoming place where great food becomes the reason people gather; and the conversations that follow become the reason they return.
Rich is the founder of Rogue Media Solutions and the Rogue Valley Business Collective. A U.S. Navy veteran with graduate degrees in marketing, accounting, and adult education, he focuses on helping local businesses become more visible while keeping more opportunity and investment in Southern Oregon.
Together, they combined those strengths to create something neither could have built alone.
Why Gourmet Grilled Cheese?
Because comfort food brings people together.
There is something familiar about a grilled cheese sandwich. It doesn’t matter where you came from, what kind of day you’ve had, or who you’re sitting next to.
Food has always been one of the easiest ways to start a conversation.
We simply decided to make those conversations unforgettable.
Every sandwich is made fresh with quality ingredients, creative flavor combinations, and the belief that even a simple meal can create meaningful connections.
Before we served our first customer, local supporters stepped forward through our Founder Program.
Founder memberships helped purchase equipment, prepare the truck, and turn an idea into a functioning business. Rather than relying on traditional investors, we invited the community to become part of the story from the beginning.
That decision shaped everything that followed. The Meltdown isn’t just supported by the community.
The Meltdown proudly calls Rally at Ethos in Phoenix, Oregon home.
Ethos Academy was founded on developing stronger leaders, healthier organizations, and stronger communities through character, integrity, and service. Those values align closely with what we’re trying to build through The Meltdown.
Being part of Rally at Ethos means we’re surrounded by businesses that believe collaboration creates stronger communities than competition ever could.
Growing Across Southern Oregon
While our home base is in Phoenix, you’ll also find us serving communities across the Rogue Valley.
From weekly pop-ups in Grants Pass to festivals, community events, private catering, and business lunches, our goal is simple:
Serve great food.
Support local communities.
Leave every place a little better than we found it.
